Amrani is a visual artist whose work explores identity, femininity, and beauty standards through the lens of her bicultural background. She graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and holds a master's degree in Film Studies & Visual Culture. Part of her ongoing Oujda Series (2015-ongoing), this photograph is inspired by traditional Moroccan wedding rituals. The partly obscured figure evokes anticipation and tension, while the soft pink tones reference femininity, contrasts with the male subject. Through this interplay, Amrani explores how gender, tradition, and identity intersect in moments of stillness and expectation.
